Artist in Residence

During the week of 8th October we were very fortunate to have Graham Woodall as an Artist in Residence to help create a large piece of sculpture based on the theme of horses. The finished sculpture will eventually be displayed in the Oxford Museum of Modern Art. This is in association with the My .....Project which is arranged by the Oxfordshire County Council Arts Council.

Our theme was chosen because we are situated in the Vale of the White Horse. All the classes are creating their own paintings and sculptures as well as visiting equine related sites in the local area.

Below are some of the pictures of events so far and of course more will follow.

A report of Art week at Charlton School by Michael

At Charlton School on 6th of October the children and Graham Woodall put together a project to create a big wooden horse….and succeeded

We all did small bits of it so it was 100% teamwork. It will be about 2 metres high when finished While we weren’t doing anything to do with the horse we did art in our class. Guess what the topic for Art was. Horses! Once the Horse is finished it will go on display in an important museum in Oxford. We are going to be famous! (Joke). It reminded a lot of people of the great Horse of Troy
