Christmas Carol Concert

On Tuesday 18th December All of the Juniors, plus year 2 choir members, walked down to the town church to celebrate the coming of Christmas with a concert of carols, readings, music and dance. The church was packed with the children and their families, who joined in with the carols played by the orchestra.

Each class and music group performed a piece which they had been practising since half term. The choir, conducted by Mrs Procter and now including year 2 children, sang beautifully. Mrs Karen Kidd conducted the orchestra and all of the music groups. We are greatly indepted to her for all the hours of voluntary time that she puts in to forward the music in the school. Mrs Driscoll struggled in from her sick bed to play the piano. The brass band, ably trained by Denise Clarke, played amazingly. Each class, lead by their teacher (or the ones who were not stricken by the "bug") performed a variety of interesting pieces from rap to dance.

Thanks must go to all of the staff for the hard work put in at this busy time of year, to the children for their enthusiastic performances, the church for letting us use such a beautiful and appropriate building and of course to you the families for your continuous support.

Merry Christmas - and now the photos!
